Michelle’s Place was founded to support the community through offering emotional and educational support along with the facilitation of breast health services. Our programs and services are free to those in need and paid for by the ongoing support of our donors, grantors and fundraising efforts. Every dollar counts.

Michelle’s Place appreciates your support. Your donations allow Michelle’s Place to continue to provide programs and services to the women and their families impacted by breast cancer in the community. Michelle’s Place is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (Tax ID 33-0951216) so your donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. You will have the option to view and print your receipt during the online donation process. Also, Michelle’s Place will mail you a receipt for your donation.

General Donations

General donations to Michelle’s Place are routed to our General Fund where they provide financial support for all services we offer to help women and their families dealing with breast cancer.
 

Medical Services

Currently, there are no state-funded programs providing breast health services to women. As of July 1, 2010, the state of California suspended indefinitely the Every Woman Counts program leaving 1.2 million uninsured women without access to potentially life-saving breast health services. There is currently no resource for women without insurance to get a mammogram and we expect the elimination of the Every Woman Counts screening program to dramatically impact our resources. • Ultrasound $75.00
• Surgeon Consult $57.00
• Needle Core Biopsy $850.00
• Excisional Biopsy $3,000.00 - 6,000.00

Pink Ribbon Assistance

Unfortunately for many women battling breast cancer, additional challenges arise in other areas of their lives. For women whose income and expenses have been impacted by breast cancer and the challenging treatments, Michelle’s Place offers the Pink Ribbon Assistance Program.

This program offers services such as gas cards, grocery cards and financial assistance with household bills. In addition, participants receive a Survivor Toolkit. This toolkit offers tools to assist women in organizing the flood of paperwork and information along with other items that have proven useful to other survivors.
