SUMMARY:Restorative Yoga (Sign-up Required)
DESCRIPTION:Restorative yoga is an embodied meditation practice\, a pathway to somatic reset and inner peace. \nIn a restorative yoga class\, your body will be fully supported in comfort and ease using a variety of yoga props or any items you can find around your homes\, such as blocks\, blankets\, bolsters\, cushions\, pillows\, and eye pillows. The intention for this practice is to bring mindful awareness\, attention to your sensations\, and on releasing tension at the physical\, mental and emotional levels; it is a gentle\, slow\, therapeutic a practice of conscious relaxation. \nThis style of yoga “restores” the body to its parasympathetic nervous system mode\, which\, in turn\, helps the body rest\, heal\, and restore balance. DESCRIPTION:Have you experienced a loss due to cancer? \nLife After Loss is a new counseling group at Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center\, created to support the natural grieving process while fostering connection and community among those who have lost a loved one to cancer. \nJoin a small\, supportive group (maximum of 6 participants\, ages 30+) for a 6-week series\, facilitated by a counseling trainee.
