Self Help Groups are FREE and Open to All

Have you been recently diagnosed with or are currently going through treatment for breast cancer? Are you a breast cancer survivor? Many women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer feel alone and that no one in their personal support circle can truly understand what they are going through.

Our Self-Help Groups are a safe haven where women can come together with a trained, experienced facilitator in a safe, welcoming environment. You can gain so much by talking to other women on journeys similar to yours. Our Self-Help Groups offer women the opportunity to be open with their experiences, concerns and questions and to learn from and support each other. Share experiences or just listen. We have four separate Self-Help Groups each month - three are open to all and one is specifically for women with metastatic cancer.

Since 2000, Michelle’s Place Breast Cancer Resource Center has been a beacon of personal support, knowledge, and breast health assistance for individuals and families impacted by breast cancer. Michelle’s Place has been a vital community resource in helping clients navigate and understand the diagnostic process and keep apprised on the latest education related to breast cancer and breast health.

We strive to enrich the lives of those impacted by cancer by providing a safe and comfortable environment with various support groups for emotional support, resource materials, educational seminars, a free lending library, free comfort items, service programs, and financial assistance.

Michelle’s Place believes no one should ever face cancer alone, so upon entering our doors you will be greeted by women who are here to help you. Many of our volunteers are breast cancer survivors who understand the complexity of cancer treatment and the emotions that follow. As a newly diagnosed person faced with an overwhelming mix of emotions and decisions, you will find a caring network of people ready to lend an ear, answer questions and help you obtain important information so that you are better able to make informed decisions and advocate for your breast health and treatment.

Michelle’s Place relies on the generous donations of individual supporters, private foundations, and businesses to fund the many programs and services offered at no cost to our clients. Please join your community in supporting our efforts by making a financial contribution or volunteering your time. We appreciate your support.

English

"If there is any message I could pass on it would be to take today's opportunities and live your dreams.  I know sometimes it's hard not to be stressed out by life and bogged with minor problems.  Try to remember what matters most to your heart and be thankful for what you do have."
